re: yes the whale is proobably my biggest problem with the archon quest too. its not that its a deus ex, like it's properly foreshadowed throughout the whole thing but its like...you mean to tell me that the calamity Fated to be brought to fontaine by the rulers of the planet...is munchies by the space whale? like why would such a significant act of celestia have to do with a whale from outside of teyvat, moreover how did it get here?? like the puzzle solving part actually felt like: "it was the whale" "wait what? how did the whale get here?" "dont worry about that. it was just The Whale"
the whale feels more like it was supposed to be interlude quest material, and i do remember a rumor that skirk was supposed to be in the later patches like 4.7 so maybe that is still the case and they just decided to pad it out with the abyss stuff in natlan?
munchies by The Whale 😭😭😭 yeah not only that but honestly why didn’t no one (NEUVILLETTE) actually investigate the origins of the stone tablets. like we found out the truth about it only because dain mentioned it in passing. it feels like the whole timeline is fucked up and everything comes out incredibly confusing
