The xiao character assassination has actually been terrible because there is really isn't much justification for him thinking so ridiculously high of traveler. Like yes traveler has purification abilities (more like absorption...? given new lore) that helps xiao but him asslicking the traveler is so absurdgfghsh have some self respect.
And for the record I'm a sucker for crazy pining losers but it makes no sense in this case its like the writers decided to share traveler's shit writing with xiao for absolutely no reason
it’s been long since i did liyue’s aq but i genuinely cannot remember any reason that would justify xiao’s obsession with traveler. what did they do to completely rewire his brain? nothing. NOTHING. and don’t get me wrong i can’t stand traveler shilling anywhere, be it xiao or ayaka or lyney or citlali. it’s insufferable
