I know that english isn't your first language but it bothers me when i see you use "Turks" as a singular noun since it's a plural noun. The correct saying is "she used to be a Turk," "my reason to become a Turk," "redeem myself as a Turk." If you use "Turks," you can say "she used to be in the Turks" or "my reason for joining the Turks" or "redeem ourselves as Turks."
