We do know that Virtual Reality (VR) exists and is being developed rapidly. Imagine we are already living in the era where VR is already used in our everyday life. No matter where we go, people use VR (References: Ready Player One/Sword Art Online). What do you think you will do?
I'm afraid that my answer will not satisfy your curiosity but let me try to answer this one. We are living in variabel environments which is we have the urge to decide and approve every single improvement, right? In my opinion, as long as if it's really useful for improving our daily tasks, we should lend a hand.
