Any anrtistic influences or inspiration that may surprise people?

I'm not sure what counts as a surprise for people... but I can say the things that I pull from the most often: Martian Successor Nadesico Movie (not the tv show), Bleach (kubotite in general), Trigun, Darker Than Black, and Revolutionary Girl Utena.
