What are the platforms you prefer to share your work on to advertise it, and how do you decide which one to pick? I know you use twitter for promo, but I am curious as to why not instagram (pretending the recent updates with AI didn't happen).

I never got into IG. I could say it's for principled reasons (their ToS) but honestly I just never understood how it worked and the vibes always felt off to me. The current descent into AI just kind of validated my general "eh" at it, I suppose. the one platform I've always been diametrically against interacting with and make an effort to pretend doesn't exist is facebook, though. Catch me dumpster diving, first. I've never had one and everything in facebook's history just validated my decision to abstain from minute one.

The platforms I actively share my work on currently: twitter, tumblr, mastodon, and cara. I have accounts other places but I've kind of let them collect dust.

As for "how do you pick" I don't know if it's that deep or complicated. I go where there are enough people vibing and chilling to reliably build a presence and the ToS doesn't make me annoyed.
