Hello! So I saw your post about the kind of things involved about making a VN, and as an aspiring VN writer/developer, what were some of the things you needed to learn to make your VN, and how did you learn them?

Coding with Renpy - There's tons of tutorials on YouTube and online. Just Google, "RenPy, how to ___" and you'll likely get the answers you need.

Writing - Practice makes perfect, tbh. Just keep writing and you will get better. It also helps to be well read... that said I am not the most well read person, myself 😅. WARNING: you will cringe at your old writing as you improve.

Art - I don't make the art for ChoPro but I am the art director. It helps to understand basic art terminology and that can be learned by just hanging out with artists and watching their streams.

Music - Practice makes perfect! Or find some nice royalty free stuff. So long as the music is implemented tastefully, it'll work well.

Graphic Design - Practice makes perfect! My old graphics SUCKED. You should have seen the old ChoPro logo (big shout out to Racky for his wonderful logo)

Marketing - Just post stuff about your game every day. You kinda have to become terminally online. It sucks, but it helps spread the word.

At the end of the day, you really just need to go for it. Once you start the process, you'll find your gaps in knowledge and you can work on improving those.

The most important thing is knowing how to ask for help and where to ask for help. The FVN discord server has been a great boon for me.

You should also network. Like do a TON OF networking. Getting to know other creators in the space will help immensely.
