Retrospring is shutting down on 1st March, 2025 Read more
As a current VN writer how far into the writing process should I go before stopping to let the other parts of the VN catch up? Theres time where I write entire characters and storylines when we are at the beginning and I feel like Im putting too much pressure on the peeps I work with.
Also shout out to naming a character Corey, I've never met anyone with my name so it's fun to see it in VN's :P
My advice would be make a polished script for everything you want in your first build, then let everything catch up. That way you'll know all the sprites, sprites outfits/expressions, music, BG's, and CG's you need. You can make notes and outlines for stuff that comes after, but focus on getting that first build out. Build 1 is always the hardest and sets the foundation for the rest of VN.
