What writing and drawing advice would you give someone that is knowledgeable, but isn't an expert in these talents yet
Practice, practice, practice! Writing and drawing are both skills, and you can only get better at them by doing them. One thing I would recommend is also learning some of the vocabulary and basic structures of the craft you're trying to gain more knowledge on. It'll help accelerate your progress.
