for the page/comic artist, what counts as a background? is it okay to have a more abstract background of graphics/shapes, or should it be some sort of scenery?
For page art, the background can either be a location where the characters are situated that covers the entire space behind/around the characters or a dynamic composition that fills the whole page in a meaningful way. What matters is that the space around the characters is not left empty/unused and that it’s not filled for the sole purpose of being filled. We hope this helps!
