For page art, the background can either be a location where the characters are situated that covers the entire space behind/around the characters or a dynamic composition that fills the whole page in a meaningful way. What matters is that the space around the characters is not left empty/unused and that it’s not filled for the sole purpose of being filled. We hope this helps!

Hello! Our mods would prefer to see 5 different pieces if possible. While we won’t disqualify your app for sending in two excerpts from the same work, our goal with samples is to help us get a sense of how you write in general so as to help us break any ties between closely rated applicants, so being able to sample different works is helpful in that regard.

Hello! Alternate universes are okay and non-canon outfits as well. So are the outfits from Clorinde’s story quest. If you’re making them wear a fanmade outfit, you must be the original creator, or the original creator must give permission to redraw their works for commercial use.

Hello! Applying to the zine requires at least one Genshin Impact work, but beyond that, we do not mind if your account does not heavily engage with Genshin Impact. Our mods will evaluate only your submitted samples and portfolio, and as long as the Genshin Impact work is there, you're good to go! The social media account we ask for in applications is only meant to be used as a backup contact method in case we are unable to get in touch via email for some reason, should you be accepted. It will not be used to weigh your application. Don't hesitate to reach out again if this doesn't fully address your concerns!

You may submit your AO3 as a portfolio link, but please be aware that the mods may pick samples to read more or less at random if you do so.

Hello anon! We will be requring at least one Genshin work (this also applies to writers, comic artists, merch artists, etc.), but we won't be taking into account following or previous zine experience. We would, of course, love to see how you draw Clorivia, but we will prioritize applicants' technical skills above all else--as long as you follow the application guidelines, your application is eligible.

We will be looking to see at least one comic sample around the same length as what the zine will expect (1-3 pages) showcasing your skills for character illustration, flow, dialogue and pacing across the page(s). Not all of your samples have to be comics!

We intend to enable writers’ creative freedom as much as possible and will avoid putting hard limits where possible. However, our NSFW zine, if it happens, will not feature true noncon—consensual non-con and various kinks will be acceptable as long as the author doesn’t mind it being tagged for our readers’ comfort.
