i don’t think you’re silly for feeling that way! i sometimes feel like that about being perceived to even a ridiculous and kinda irl debilitating level lol and letting someone read a story you wrote is so personal and intimate so i think it’s natural to feel observed when you put it out there for anyone to see?

i frequently get writing blocks cos of it but after dragging myself out of a really bad one i wrote something i felt good about so i posted it like a week or so ago and then immediately felt my mental state about writing collapse again 🥲 spent several days stressing about the fact i’d posted it (and worrying i maybe should’ve added the non-con tag but then worried that it would feel misleading cos it’s obvious by the end that he liked it but then it’s still ?????? i’m still arguing with myself about this one tbh lol) but i kept going in spirals until i felt SICK about it and the fact that people can SEE me (kinda, through the fic lol) and only started being able to actually open any of my wips again like 2 days ago after sternly talking myself back out of it AGAIN because yea i guess it is a bit of a silly feeling to have, but that doesn’t mean you have to feel silly for feeling it, yk? i feel like sometimes you have to force yourself kicking and screaming into the right mindset to be like “actually i am allowed to be selfish about this. i SHOULD be selfish about this. it’s for ME”

it’s a forever reoccurring struggle lmao but it feels very worth it every time i get back out of it and start writing freely again
