what if as a part of the reload expansion pass we got an original story dlc where we play as strega or something... maybe during the initial kirijo experiments on them idk. this will likely never happen, but thoughts?

It’s fun to entertain the idea though it won’t happen. Here’s 2 ideas:

1. I don’t think it’d be of the initial experiments because Strega were ~8 y.o.. Also, if you’ve seen their backstory clip in P3WM, they don’t know what they’re doing and that’s why everyone around them is dying.

So to make this playable, the DLC should explore them learning to control their personas. Strega would have to meet each other early on to make a dungeon party, but the idea of other experiment kids joining the party then dying would be fitting. Helps sell the idea of attachment’s worthlessness.

Bringing up the novel “Shadow Cry” for the millionth time again, but one of those kids could be Izumi. There’s already a narrative around him acting as an older brother figure, protecting Jin, and then supposedly dying.

2. Which then leads to how the DLC could just be “Shadow Cry” but implemented in the game. However, there’s timing and relationship conflicts between the stories leave me with hesitancy to call it a good idea.

Also a novel is much different from a game. If the DLC were to offer insight on Strega’s daily lives, the gameplay could be doing their avenging business opposed to exploring Tartarus.

The “daily life” aspect would be difficult; but switching protagonists may be the way to go. You play as Chidori and see her perspective during the Junpei arc. You play as Jin and do all the stuff he has to in order to maintain Strega.

Or Takaya. If there had to be a single protagonist, I’d focus it on Takaya to better understand his mindset and foils to Makoto. Love me a good unreliable narrator.

I like the first idea over the second because I think the “early explorations of Tartarus” could be a fun DLC idea to save for the SEES Seniors. Show what happened two years ago.
