The other day I was thinking about the "Fukuchi got the prophecy of a war from his space-time sword" thing. It's probably true that he can "listen" to the will of the sword, especially when the sword was connected to the forger's ability to start with. However... like in any story with sentient or semi-conscient weapons... do you think "talking to the sword" or just "hearing" what it had to say worsened his mental condition? I do.

i'm so sorry i am responding to this so late, i haven't really talked about this on main but my grandfather died i think around the same time i got this message and i didn't have the energy to give it the lengthy response i felt like it deserved ;_;

ANYWAYS YEAH, i really need to rewatch this scene because i haven't thought about it too much but it's so INTERESTING because i agree, i think that this likely worsened his mental condition. like what did fukuchi MEAN he got the prophecy from a sword? what did that LOOK like? i really hope asagiri expands on it more when the manga version comes out. i feel like asagiri is sitting on a lot of lore about sentient abilities/abilities turned into objects, and i have soooo many questions about it. like my conspiracy theory (this is so much copium lol) is that this is why the anime producers have been sitting on 55 minutes. like they HAVE referenced standard island now as well as the shell, so they are acknowledging the novel tangentially, why haven't they adapted it yet?? is there a hint in there that they are trying not to focus on because they want to save it for later when it's more plot relevant??? maybe maybe not but gab being a sentient island and fukuchi's sword being possibly sentient .... shibusawa being a sentient ability .... i have so many questions

i also wonder what will happen with the sword after .... will fukuzawa keep it? will we learn more about it that way? i'm dying for this information so baaad. we're so close to the end of the arc and i'm really really eager for what's next
