idk why people are white knighting for nintendo, it seems like the entire premise from the start was to make a ripoff of pokémon? like the devs weren’t trying to hide it or anything. using ai in any capacity is yuck to me as an artist, but using it for concept art and then going on to create the rest of the assets from scratch based on that is like, a lesser evil i guess? versus making everything from ai in the first place. at least there was an artist involved AT ALL lmao. i think the designs are kinda fugly tho overall, which is what you get when you use ai for concepts
