long story short? it was originally a one-shot titled "mission m.a.r.s" that i shelved in 2021, but the fic never fully left my mind. i kept coming back to this idea of gojō putting everything on the line for his wife and children. last year in may, i had several conversations with @personsroom about fleshing out the fic, but it wasn't until i saw oppenheimer that the story was given its shape. i left the theater with a clear beginning, middle, and end, and i spent the next month outlining and plotting!
