ok so ill admit i just started on a new med thats allowing me to LOCK THE FUCK IN lmfaoooo so i really only partially have an answer for this as someone with like 50 wips rn. what i do is write the idea down in my notes app when it comes, even write the scenes if dialogue appears and im like ooooh thats so good get that down get that down- and then... i let it sit. i try to juggle three main projects at most and let others sit on the back burner until I can get those main projects finished. three because: 1. sometimes its good to try and lock in and finish ONE fic. sometimes ill go to a cafe and purposefully not connect to their wifi and have the fic downloaded onto my computer so i can open it in my pages. but sometimes my brain just simply CAN'T do that fic. and thats ok. so i move on to my second fic. 2-3 ideas at once isn't too overwhelming for me and i can switch between them when im making no progress on one without paralysis
2. ur ideas will be there, you dont need to write them IMMEDIATELY. excitement for them might fade but one of the things ive learned is that motivation may go- but great news, it DOES come back. i waited a year juggling whether or not to delete a fic off of ao3 once and im really glad i didn't, because one day at work, its ending came to me, and I finally updated it!
