The “something to live for” series is probably one my favorites from your works so far. I have such a soft spot for robot-humanity themed stories😭 (and tragedies but im a fob stan so thats no surprise to no one). For almost the entire duration of me reading that fic, i had a vocaloid song played on repeat because it just reminded me so much of the song.
The song is called “kokoro” and it basically tells the story of a robot who has a heart. And im not 100% yk the song, but on god i have a feeling you do, i feel like we were in the same

aaaahhh anon, thank you so much 🥺💕 it's honestly my favourite too, both a flower in the rain and the one you loved, they mean a lot to me so it makes me especially happy when others love those fics as much as I do 😭
and SDJFHSJ I DO IN FACT KNOW THE SONG LMAO I had a brief vocaloid phase when I was in high school... suffice it to say, I'm old af and that was a long time ago for me so I completely forgot about it and was Not thinking about it at all while I was writing either of those fics, but!! it's always really cool to me when people draw connections between my fics and different songs/media that I didn't even think about, especially if I did know about it at one point... I hope you don't mind me going full nerd on you for a sec but for my master's thesis I compared the process of dreaming with the process of creating, because they both draw on a complex concoction of memories and knowledge and experiences to synthesise something "new"... and the same happens in reverse! with everything we encounter, the way we make sense of it is by making connections between it and our previous backlog of things we've learned and experienced 🥹 so everything we consume and create is constantly engaging in this network, passing from one brain to another, and I find there to be something really beautiful about that... basically, I feel very honoured and humbled to be able to create something that can serve as a piece of that network... if that makes sense...
