I haven't gone down the vocaloid rabbit hole much, but are there any singers you retrospringers recommend? Thanks!

Singers? Do you mean artists that use vocaloids? I'd recommend Wowaka and Hachi in that case.
Vocaloid wise, I think songs that use Miku or Rin sound great
