maybe you’ve been asked this before but still i want to know your thoughts about boys planet sungseok, how you see their relationship throughout the show, especially with smn situation and whole bnb story
i haven't been asked this before no! the short answer is i hate mnet and i hate w1 and none of us should ever settle for believing the stuff that these shows bring to us. because it's all highly edited and built around and twisted into something that tells the audience the story that the company WANTS to tell.
the long answer is. hm. i think it's not a very accurate depiction of their dynamic if i am being honest but there are moments that DID give us a lot of insight to their dynamic/relationship. the baseline comment i have is that bp downplayed their rs a LOT. (We know what they did to gyubrik .....) esp when you consider in the facts like the other trainees constantly teasing mattbin, playing into them being jealous if the other is taken, telling them to get married to eo etc etc and stuff like the mentors saying oh we thought you two were always in the same team until now. like damn HOW close WERE they for the conversation surrounding them to be like that huh? How much did mnet hide.... you will always have to wonder tbh. I at least always will dkdhdj
i think bp was a hurdle in their rs that they successfully passed. it was NOT easy for either of them but to this day, i know that matthew def had it the hardest. I have my fair share of conspiracy theories ahem calculated guesses if you will.... but if I'm keeping things Very straight to the point, it was survival. it was a very high stress situation but they Made it. And i also think bp in the end taught mattbin a LOT abt eo and about their relationship. It was a much needed hurdle i guess. It sucked to watch, it must have sucked to experience it and i sometimes gen wish they didn't have to but you know how life is. Something has to give! Sacrifices made for the greater good etc etc.
About say my name.... i know what the general consensus is. I know people think say my name broke mattbin for good and that they never really can go back to how they were blah blah blah.... LOL. Bullshit wkqgwkwgwjw LIKE IM SORRY DJDGDJD that was a much needed life lesson esp for hanbin (😭😭) but it didn't break them!!!! If anything imo it made them closer. It put things into perspective for them. Kind of like a wake up call to the life they were about to step into together. Hanbin really had to learn the most there i think. And honestly. Mnet extrapolated on it Too much. It was at most an issue of few hours. And mattbin were all over eo the moment matthew came back into the room after taking his breather Anyway... so idk how everyone convinced themselves that mattbin were not fine with eo. To this day i wonder why mnet didnt show a "reconciliation scene" for mattbin the way they did for mattwoong. did they not want to include it? or did mattbin purposefully talk away from the cameras or did they not talk at all? guess we will never know huh. and to round back on some of the more harsher comments and stuff, i honestly don't think of it as a big deal. The stress, the pressure, everything around them forcing woongsungz into that role... it just turned out that way. I put the blame one mnet completely lmao i fucking hate that company sm.
also haobin. I will be honest with u i gen didn't notice them during the show. I only got More into bnb like uhhh immediately post show (?) Bc i found their finale moments adorable. While i had kept up with haobin vaguely by then, i only took a more active and emotional interest and invested kinda part in haobin after the show. Honestly i don't... think it mattered to me. At all. Haobin and mattbin are separate dynamics. Sure some overlap Might be there but at the end of the day unless im talking about you know matthaobin as a whole, mattbin and haobin are 2 diff relationships and doesn't really have a direct influence on eo imo :> esp not in the context of bp because let's be real mnet DID push haobin, they were the star couple, meant to be etc etc. And everyone knew that! Whatever narratives that was built then has lost its strength for me now, both in terms of mattbin and haobin bc we def got to see their dynamics more clearly post show after their debut etc.
as a final comment, matthew has said that his fav stage was say my name and that he enjoyed it a lot and this more than anything else convinces me of the fact that mnet was creating drama out of nothing 😭😭 so yeah! uhhh idk if i answered satisfactorily. If you have any more questions or parts you would like me to elaborate on, feel free to hmu!
sorry for being so late to reply btwwww thank you for dropping by with an interesting question!
