Hey just wanted to tell you sth about the person behind AmaZine, she fully believes into making profit off fandom, she had a Patreon where she paywalled some fics, she's printed and sold two fanfics to make profit like they were actual books and she didn't change the names or anything just literally printed two Kaeluc fics to make money out of them. She rlly wants to monetize fandom so zines and merch artists should be wary of working with AmaZine bc these are not passion projects for them, it's just a quick way to make money.
Hey anon, thanks for reaching out!
While I'm personally not opposed to fandom creators trying to monetize their fan works to get some extra dough on the side (I do writing commissions myself sometimes), I believe it should never come to the detriment of the people who are creating the works--which is my main issue with doing this for fanzines. I've said it and I'll say it again, if they don't see how being the only 2 people out of 100+ to walk away with any money at the end of a project, SOME OF THAT MONEY BEING DIRECTLY FROM THE CONTRIBUTORS, I don't think we're ever going to see eye to eye.
