i have been around monee for almost 4 years and my experience is directly opposite to everything i have seen here so far
both members of amazine have helped me with project finances i had no previous experience with and quite literally, helped my dreams come true of having the physical book full of amazing art i have always wanted, in my hands
i can tell at least one of the claims you have received here in your asks is just outright fake, but everyone will believe it just because it checks out with that specific narrative
you're allowed to disagree with the way amazine works, but that's up to zine organizers to look over and accept or deny the terms. atp monee is getting unnecessary hate and even false accusations and this is getting into harassment territory. if you disagree with the terms, then don't hire them. they disclose their terms before you get in the contract.
i believe you have good intentions but please beware what people say and how long you plan to publicly drag someone's name through the mud. the callout post is out and people can take their own conclusions without adding more fuel to the fire
Good for you if you've had good experiences with them. As far as I'm concerned, your comment is not more or less trustworthy than the other asks I've gotten on here. It's all hearsay to me, and I don't plan on making up my mind about them or their character based on rumours. I do, however, intend on letting people have an outlet to express themselves (in my Retrospring or in private) and giving people the proper tools to make decisions with all the information in hand (on Bluesky and X).
Respectfully, even if Monee and Aly were helpful to you in the past, you should realize that the way they're doing things right now is misleading and dishonest with respect to fanzine contributors and buyers. We can disagree on the principles of what fanzines are for and if what they're doing is morally wrong or not, but I won't sit here and condone them pocketing money that should be going to contributors or charity with none of the people putting that money in being thoroughly and explicitly made aware that 15% of everything they give is going into only 2 people's pockets.
I've put the necessary disclaimers and request not to harass in my document. If people are angry or upset, it's their right to be.
