And I also closely following your writing on the relationship between Gertrude and Czerny. It’s undeniable that there was once a deep feeling between the two, even if it was brief. What I find most difficult to endure is that, at least, Gertrude kept that (whatever it may be defined as) with her until her death… the ONLY ONE feeling in her life that was truly precious to her. I wasnt aware she could be based on a real figure that's so interesting thank you for telling me !!!! And YES !!!! I believe gertrude had truly wanted to be understood by czerny just as she had learned to understand him but her life until the end was dictated by others and she couldn't even die in her own terms, it's really tragic 😞 as far as i remember czerny continues to call gertrude by name even in lingering echoes so that's at least one sign that showed he still held enough respect for her to call her by her preferred name !!!
