You’re saying I’m trolling but I’m being genuinely serious. For example matchablossom is a ship name for joe + kaoru and people use it regardless of top bottom. I just don’t see why is it not possible for thomato or genshin ship in general. We already have a pretty name for the ship why butcher it just because of top bottom roles? People can always mute tags like #bottomthoma or #bottomayato if they don’t want to see it.

But there really isn't some big fandom council who decides these things, it simply goes by t+b order and that's it. It's simple and clean (トマ人 - thoma+to, 若/綾トマ - aya+thoma/waka+thoma). As someone who drew and shipped thomato before Ayato even had a face, I'm not happy about thomato being turned into a general tag and I'm pretty sure ayathoma mains wouldn't be happy about it either 🧍♂️ it already happened to chili which was destroyed by "uwu cute ship name" and now we just use tartali and zhongchi to separate the two, you barely see chili used anymore. I'm not the one who decides these tags ("I just work here" lmao) so please stop camping in my asks unless you want my attention that badly 💖
