I really want to try writing gmg but I get stuck when I try and make their dynamic work in fic because I don’t want to do it wrong. What would you say are the fundamental elements of their dynamic that you would want to see featured in fics
ahh thank you for asking i now have an excuse to talk about this LOL. i know the main issue with writing real people is trying not to stray too far from their actual personality/dynamics so what i will say is don’t feel much pressure to conform into one concrete way to write a specific person. this applies to outside of gmg too, just rpf in general. if you have a vision you want to see come to life and you want to use gmg to help you do that then by all means go ahead (of course, do it responsibly, that goes without saying).
but to answer your question, i do have my own preferences of what i like to see portrayed in gmg fics specifically. first and foremost, i enjoy reading geon and maet’s mutual attraction for each other more than anything else. you may find it difficult to portray this accurately through one pov but i’d suggest dropping easter eggs throughout that would lead the reader to assume that “oh, he likes him just as much as he does. maybe even more so.” another thing: maet’s consistent babying/compliment giving and geon’s watchful eye on any and everything maet does. geon loves praises and maet welcomes being looked after so i drool over that in any fic no matter how small the description <3 oh and also them equally being touchy with each other. max points if you emphasize size difference (i.e. geon’s big hands around maet’s thick thighs) love it alwayssss. i’d like to take the time to link the gmg timeline that you can always reference for canon events surrounding gmg, it may help with writing their dynamic more “accurately”!
but honestly, if you feel like you haven’t met any of the above “criteria” (even though you REALLY don’t have to i can’t stress this enough!! i’m a nobody at the end of the day) you can always tag your fic ooc lmao. but i hope this helped at all!!
