Are pinch hitters required to draw the character(s) the contributor that is leaving was drawing or do they also have the freedom to choose and draw whoever? Thanks!
Pinch hitters may be required to choose the same region/season as the previous contributor, but otherwise they will have creative freedom to draw whatever character(s) they wish!

Hi there! This is my first time applying to any zines. Ive never compiled a portfolio for them before. Do zines typically prefer a portfolio in a google presentation or should the images be their own separate file in the folder?
Portfolios can be any site where we are able to see more of your work! This can be a google drive with images arranged in a folder, or other. We also allow curated views of a social media too, like a Tumblr tag, Instagram highlight, Twitter thread, etc.

Hello, I was interested in applying as a contributor. I'm not sure if there is a typo in the guideline doc or it's intended. Are we allowed to submit NSFW pieces as our portfolio/best examples artworks (even though the zine is SFW)?
You may include NSFW pieces in your art portfolio! In the application form, there is a question that asks about any NSFW content in your pieces and you will need to select the appropriate tags.

Are we allowed to change up the characters' outfits?
As AUs will not be included in the zine, we would prefer that character outfits in the zine be compliant with their in-game outfits or slightly modified to match the environment they are featured in. Characters may also be featured in their alternative skins if they already have one (ie. Fischl, Diluc, Jean, etc.)

The word count for your samples should be at minimum around 2,000 words.

Writers do not have a limit on the number of portfolio pieces, but please keep them close to 2.5k in word count. Written pieces do not have to be complete and may be snippets of a larger work.

Is it mandatory to draw characters from the region they are based from or can you have characters crossing into other regions?
Any character may be featured in any region, regardless of their nation of origin. Example: Xiao may be featured in a Mondstadt spring piece.

Does our artwork for the zine need to feature >1 character?
Zine pieces may feature either an individual character or a group (2+) of characters in your assigned season. NPCs are more than welcome as well!

Hello, I see you have to be 18 years old to participate and have your own payment method. My 18th birthday is a day after the application period closes, and I don't have a payment method that accepts dollars because I'm from another country. Would I still be able to participate? Thanks
We invite you to apply if you are able to set up a proper payment service such as Paypal in order to receive compensation. Typically that service will have an option to convert the payment into your preferred currency.

Can we only write for 1-2 regions or must we write for all 4 regions?
Writers and artists will be assigned one season and one region draw or write for based on their preferences in their application.

How many pieces are expected for the merch artist portfolio? And can our samples also be included in the portfolio?
Merch artists will need to include a portfolio of 3-5 pieces and the 3 samples they submitted may be included in their portfolios.

We will not be featuring modern AU's, only canon regions in Teyvat.

I know this zine is entirely platonic and friendship based. But can relationships be implied (e.g. super close friendship, subtle crush, etc.)
Since the theme of the zine is about friendships and platonic relationships, close friendships are fine as long as there is no hinted, implied, or obvious romantic feelings between the characters.

Say I wanted to draw two characters from different regions - would that be acceptable? For example, Albedo and Kazuha. Or all the archons together.
You would absolutely be able to include characters from different regions interacting together in your piece.
