Different anon, but I agree. I saw someone a while back make a post along the lines of Enstarries refusing to acknowledge characters that weren't involved in The War, but it's insane that it goes so far to ignore the actually horrific things Eichi is doing NOW in the story in favour of talking about a story arc that happened years ago and does not matter to the current story. Enstarries really need to get over the War and actually pay attention to stories taking place in the current era. They've had 9 years to discuss that old story and its ramifications, when are they finally going to look at the clearly worse problems Eichi is enacting now? It's to the point that I personally can't see anything redeeming in Eichi as a character, but idk if that's me being too harsh (I don't think it is)
YEP, ALL THIS. The War is still very important to understand many of the characters but the writers have moved on. Eichi is quite something, isn't he! Akira talked about introducing Gate Keeper because he needed an antagonist who was a step above Eichi in intimidation factor. That step above turned out to be a cartoony evil thug that just made a bunch of bluffs about killing people. Eichi saw that and said "The Emperor must reclaim his evil throne."
