do you ever see yourself getting out of enstars in the future if (god forbid) ibuki's story gets handled poorly ? genq im super sorry if this is worded weirdly i dont mean any ill intent
It's hard to say. Matrix crushed me really. Like I'll still love Rinne, Hiiro and Niki forever. But my interest in the story waned significantly. Now, I don't have any particular hopes for their stories. Ibuki piqued my interest immediately. I heard Okinawa and instantly grabbed onto him and decided he was going to be my guy. On top of that he is also American, so this was really exciting to me. It felt personal. Japanese American characters with Indigenous backgrounds are not common. I saw the little audition video where Ibuki was being silly and punched the camera and I absolutely knew he was the one. Perhaps this was extremely foolish of me, but we will see. I was disheartened by Ibuki's introductory story, because I found it insensitive. Nonetheless, I already was pretty sure I wanted to produce him at this point. I wasn't ready to commit to saying I loved him yet, though. What we saw from him in the first half of VS Audience revitalized my love for Enstars. I was like "Yep. The trio just became a quartet." Ibuki skyrocketed up the list of characters I love. I am very selective about who I produce, so this was a big deal tbh. Anyways, I've put up with so much bullshit with the Amagis over the years and their OG backstory is so absurdly offensive that it makes you wonder how they could top that. But if the message of the Okinawa arc literally becomes "Colonization is good actually," I'll probably have to draw the line there. It would probably be my breaking point. That said, I can't really leave a hyperfixation until something new comes along, and they tend to last quite a while. My last one was six years I believe. I guess I don't have a fully definitive answer to this question. If Ibuki's story really sucks I'll also start trying to organize and I'll be formally complaining to Happy Elements so they have that to look forward to.
