he is intrinsically and inseparably connected to dearest. they cannot be parted from each other through most normal means, ie; ageing or death. dearest is the only "person" elliot holds any respect for, not to mention the fact that he's quite madly in love with it.

there's not much set in stone since she's more or less a side character, but gris (full name gristle) used to live a much more glamorous life in what amounts to high society in her world. she used to have precious gems embedded in her skin to showcase her status, which unfortunately drew the unwanted attention of one elliot doherty, who... extracted them through incredibly unpleasant means.
disgraced, gris was forcibly removed from the only life she had known. i don't know how she ended up on jay's property, but she's been staying there for at least a couple years now. the two could loosely considered friends.
