Is there an update to your financial/shipping mod situation? A previous ask brought up Mod Misery's potential involvement and while your team responded with clarifying she's stepped down, that was about 25 days ago. Has a new financial/shipping mod been found? Will the card.co be updated to reflect that? I assume the socials will update as well regarding this situation, but I haven't found any type of announcement yet.
Hello! While it is true that Misery has stepped down from her position, we are yet to find an appropriate replacement for her. We are still in search of one, hence the lack of announcement on our social media and our Carrd. We will be sure to post an update as soon as we can find someone who is able to take over her responsibilities. This will be our priority as soon as application results are sent out in a few hours!

hello! may i ask whether wips are allowed as samples? as the application form states that wips are allowed while the info doc states only completed pieces can be included
Hello! Please follow the guidelines stated on the application forms, which would be at least three (3) rendered artworks being mandatory to include in the portfolio. We apologise for the discrepancy on our Info Document, but have since made the relevant changes to ensure the information is consistent!

Hi! For artists applications is having at least one H:SR piece in the portfolio mandatory? Would a portfolio without one be considered or will it be completely scrapped? Thanks in advance for your reply!
Hello! While a portfolio without a HSR piece wouldn't be disqualified immediately, we do strongly advise applicants to submit one as far as possible as it allows us to discern how well the applicant can draw the relevant characters from the game.

are you going to address the fact that your finance/shipping mod just put out a thread detailing their failure to deliver on a staggering number of past zines and admitting to taking on too large of a workload? because that really makes me concerned for the future of this project.
Hello! Misery has already stepped down from the project, and several others that she shared with other mods on our team, but we are currently holding off from a statement as we are still in the midst of arranging a replacement to join us. Rest assured that she already has no involvement with this project and will be formally taking her leave once we find a suitable replacement. These changes will be also announced on our social media, so those supporting this project will be made aware of them. We appreciate your understanding in this matter!

How many pieces should page artists submit?
Hello! We're not sure what this is referring to but those who are accepted into the zine will only be expected to submit one (1) piece. Applicants will be required to prepare three (3) pieces for each sample, and a minimum of five (5) in the portfolio. Hope this answers your question!

Hi! Is there any leeway on the word count for writers? I have a 1.9k fic that I wanted to use as a sample, but not sure if it would be accepted since it's 100 words shy of the minimum!
Hello! We aren't too particular about the word count unless it's way over or under, but a 100-word leeway would be a safe estimate.

Why does it say writers are required to pitch but artists are suggested? That doesn't seem fair that writers are being judged harder than artists on their app since they WILL be judged on their pitch, since artists don't have to and don't get judged on it. Seems like you're being unfair to writers, since they have to pitch upfront while artists can not and still get accepted without a pitch. It kind of ruins wanting to apply knowing my app is going to be grader harder than an artist app.
Hi, and thank you for your query! While we understand that this seems unfair, there are certain considerations that went into this decision. For writers, we believed it would be necessary to grade pitches as it would allow us not to not only gauge what our accepted writers are interested in creating, but also to see if they would be writing within their strengths. For example, a writer who is strong at introspection wanting to write fluff might not be a suitable fit for this zine. We will be accepting much fewer writers than page artists due to spacial limitations, so it is important for us to know which pool of characters our writers are interested in creating for, as well as the type of content. Do note that pitches are not a priority as compared to the actual samples themselves and may even just be used for tie-breaking. However, it would be unfair to even use them as tie-breakers without declaring it to applicants. That said, we will be keeping your feedback in mind and will reconsider our approach toward this. The star rail works I've written do not meet the word count requirement and most of my works are nsfw, am I automatically disqualified from applying for the writer's application?
Hi! If you're concerned that your Star Rail works don't meet the word count requirement, we would encourage you to submit excerpts instead. Similarly, you may consider submitting SFW excerpts from NSFW pieces. We don't mind the presence of NSFW in your portfolio, especially if it's a site like ao3, as long as it's tagged.
