Jung acting like a parent should have threads on it because I believe it stems from how he had to grow up masking his feelings and just putting up with everything that comes hid way. Not many people seem to notice that jung for one is emotionally intelligent and I think him acting like a parent is an interesting layer to his personality. There are few instances like the time he saw inho near seol's house and he detests the sight of inho so the way he told seol to just go in that indifferent tone, all those times he consoled her and the way he keeps his feelings hidden. His father played a crucial role in shaping Jung the way we were shown in seol's pov and it's very sad that he had to grow up without a single adult in his life helping him understand and process emotions the right way. yes !!!! you're right, i feel like it could do with his need to control his environment and those close to him because he never had a sense of safety and his boundaries and needs were never respected as a child. it is a really interesting layer and i also like that even if it could make him seem cold at times, this trait of his was a huge comfort and support to her like when he encouraged her when even her parents wouldn't. he always gave her advice, cheered her up, reassured her that she was doing well, and helped her with her studies which felt like he was filling in a role of a guardian for her, but not in an awkward way, it just felt so natural with his personality. it is sad that he had to grow up so fast and learn to look out for himself cause no one else would care for his feelings. i'm glad he channeled it in a healthy way by using these traits to be supportive and loving to seol.
