There might be some slight misconception about the type of dark romance I am into, with the ones people usually talk about which is when the girl is abused but tolerates the guy anyway because she loves him, or extreme damsel in distress, misogynistic type of shit.. nah, that ain't my thing, it gave me an ick so much I am so sorry 😭

In my case, what I like is when the two main characters are equally powerful and somewhat morally grey. For example, if the guy is a mafia leader, then the girl is an assassin because I like them to be both benefitting each other with what they can do best. Or if the guy is a beast but the girl is a powerful queen, stuff like that. The playful banter when they threaten to kill each other but instead they kiss? My goodness, that is hot.
