childe fans get very aggressive if he appears and it's not "lore relevant" like the yoimiya event, or if people don't find him interesting because "his lore!!1". why do people want to pretend hyv has good writing and not criticize this company, i don't understand. its like childe only coasts by because of his type and because he's a male character and just "teehee murderer" is enough for people to call men interesting.

An unpopular opinion but lore alone doesn't carry a character in Genshin. Lore is supposed to enhance a character, but it's not all there is. So many people will say "but this character has X lore", but what does it add? What people remember is interactions and minor nuances that make characters feel more human to us in events. Childe doesn't have that.
I’ll reiterate, it depends on what your interests are and what you look for in a character. I like Childe bc of his lore, and although it would be great if he had more interactions, the lack of doesn’t make me dislike him. He’s written well enough so that what’s already given through story quests and events is enough for me to like his character. We clearly have differing opinions, so I ask respectfully—please leave me be.

The issue is Genshin is the game about character interactions and they just cut off any chance for Childe to get any. No one cares about his family and people complain about it even though we saw his brother once. Kaeya is connected to endgame lore and hasn't revealed much to traveler, but he's still liked because of his interactions. The Sumeru cast aren't tied to endgame but people like simple interactions like the dudes hanging out. It's not dark lore that carries characters, it's simple things.
I think that’s highly subjective to what you’re interested in. I personally prefer dark lore to simple interactions—tho that doesn’t mean I dislike simple interactions. You also have to realize Childe’s home region is an unreleased area and there’s barely any released characters from that region—that’s why there’s a lack of more mundane interactions with him as a whole.

It's funny to have someone claim Childe can only be liked in porn because he's my favorite character and I see him as someone on the asexual spectrum lol - and there are so many sfw fics and fanart to adore with him!
It's okay to dislike a character but maybe the anon should just stay in the spaces for their own favs and not bother you.

Childe gets hced as a playboy because it fits the otome game trope they're trying to do with him, but mainly it's because he doesn't have much substance in canon. That's always the fate of characters like that. He gets no introspection or the loving treatment most of the Genshin guys get. "Woo I like killing but also I'm nice to my little brother" isn't substance. He's not given the treatment and pathos characters like Zhongli, Diluc, Xiao, Scara have. That's why in all his ships he's an extra spice ingredient, but the other characters are the ones that people love in a "softer" way because of their place in the narrative.
I agree w/ the beginning, but I think Childe has substance in canon. Your interpretation of him is shallow, which shows your lack of understanding and attention to his story and nuances. Other characters can be seen as shallow as well—if you don’t pay attention to their story in the same way. If you’re the same anon, I’ll reiterate. I can’t change the way you think and you can’t convince me he’s a badly written character. We can agree to disagree.

How do you think the respective family introduction would go for Zhongli and Childe? Cause I'm sure they would try to introduce their partner to them. Kinda thinking about the adepti as Zhongli's family here
I feel like the adepti wud accept it easily since they respect ZL and his decisions ^^ Childe’s siblings wud be excited to meet ZL but I’m not sure about his parents? Probably surprised

Why does zcz always have to be about porn in order to be shipped? I'm not against sex, but it's also like being a porn fave is the only reason anyone even ships Childe because his character can't be liked unironically or anything here.
