Childe gets hced as a playboy because it fits the otome game trope they're trying to do with him, but mainly it's because he doesn't have much substance in canon. That's always the fate of characters like that. He gets no introspection or the loving treatment most of the Genshin guys get. "Woo I like killing but also I'm nice to my little brother" isn't substance. He's not given the treatment and pathos characters like Zhongli, Diluc, Xiao, Scara have. That's why in all his ships he's an extra spice ingredient, but the other characters are the ones that people love in a "softer" way because of their place in the narrative.
I agree w/ the beginning, but I think Childe has substance in canon. Your interpretation of him is shallow, which shows your lack of understanding and attention to his story and nuances. Other characters can be seen as shallow as well—if you don’t pay attention to their story in the same way. If you’re the same anon, I’ll reiterate. I can’t change the way you think and you can’t convince me he’s a badly written character. We can agree to disagree.
