Yes, I have ridden many train. One time I rode the train it was very fast. More times I've ridden the train it was slow. But that's an America thing, trains in America usually suck. One time I was getting on the Caltrain and they were doing electrification. It was extremely busy because, y'know, rush hour. They single tracked the Palo Alto station and I didn't realize it. Uh, I think a homeless guy was saying racist things to me before I realized "oh fuck I need to be on the other platform."
So the train arrives and I'm like "fuck I think that's my train" but I didn't know if it was my train! The schedules are completely different! And everyone's flooding on, the bike car is absolutely swamped, probably 30 people trying to get their bikes into this 2-person opening. And suddenly the door starts closing! So now, not only are people having to deal with the jam, they also have to deal with a door that they need to pull out of the way. It sucked.
Boarding was probably 7 minutes long as a result, and by the time I got on the train, the conductor announced that this train was an earlier train running 30 minutes late so I didn't need to get on that one... I could have just waited for the less busy cars ...
I guess this train ended up serving twice the number of people that needed to be there. A big family with Giants shirts hopped on so I assume it was even worse because of a baseball game that day, probably.
