Hi, it has come to our attention recently that someone on the mod team is also participating in an anti-run project that is explicit about doing background checks on applicants. How can you make sure that this zine is safe to apply to/buy for those who enjoy problematic topics in fiction? (Not intending this question as a gotcha at all, just curious, considering that real life finances are involved.)
Hello! We are SO sorry for the delay!
One of the head mods (Lan) was locked out of Discord for a few weeks, and contact between mods was extremely limited! I have been swamped with Maker's Dozen, so taking the lead in their absence wasn't in the cards.
Your concern is valid. I have only recently heard about this project due to the above, and I am discussing with my co-head how we move forward and make our values clear. I have a zero-tolerance policy regarding content limitation (outside of limitations provided by a printer in a for-print project - if we move forward with Digital-only NSFW zine, there will be no content restrictions). The Interest Check will determine whether this project is a SFW Knives Gen Zine (no ships) or a SFW + Ships Zine, and whether we have a bonus NSFW side zine.
If we proceed with a ship-inclusive zine(s), ALL ships will be allowed SFW or NSFW.
If you are concerned about my support of problematic fiction, please review my personal library of creative works. ;) (https://ao3.org/users/squishycake)
