I'VE CRIED SO HARD AT MASKED SELF AND REELING IN THE LIGHTS. genuinely some of the best events in the game. masked self is such a beautiful climax after the buildup of ena3, kanade3, and of course, mizuki4. Engeki is the perfect commissioned song for it too. I remember when I first heard the full version, it sent chills down my spine. Reeling in the Lights was a great callback to Mirage and the story makes me feel so weepy. I'm so happy that Mafuyu has been making significant progress. She's really blossoming now... the payoff has been worth it. She deserves the world and more.
I'd also like to add that, back then during Masked Self, significant early leaks were a thing. I was given the story for Mafuyu's event a bit early, so I was sitting on that event before everyone else. I was so excited about it...

As for her family... Mafuyu's mom is just so frustrating to watch. They've nailed a good job at making a character that makes me upset to see on screen, or groan upon sight. She evokes strong emotions and that's how to get a good character, I feel.
Meanwhile with Mafuyu's dad, I'm glad he's a pillar of support for Mafuyu, and I've been impressed by his actions and attempts to make serious change. Chapter 8 was brutal and makes me emotional... their bond, though difficult and lacking due to his work life, is important. "No matter what happens, Dad is Mafuyu's ally."
I think they did a good job actually designing the two parents. Mafuyu's mother has a sort of ... venomous(? not sure the right word) look to her while her dad has a more gentle and kind look. I think they really fit each character.
But yeah, I really like Mafuyu and I can't wait to see where she goes from here. I think they've did a good job on Mafuyu particularly lately. Her early stories are nice but the latest ones have restructured my brain.
