beloved anon, you're so real for this. we need more middle aged fanfic. i personally find stories of people in their 40s and beyond just really appealing, especially when they go into that feeling of being settled, both in your life and in your own skin.

i think a minlix fic that i'd like to write for middle aged them would be both of them (non)temporarily moving in together after the skz disbandment and just kinda....staying this way. they're in their mid-late 20s, all of the members are finding their own avenues, looking for their own space in the world outside of stray kids, and this includes moving out of the dorms. minho is already finalising buying a beautiful 3 bedroom in a quiet neighbourhood when felix asks if he could move in with him for a couple weeks/months until he finds something he likes. getting a good property in seoul is difficult, especially when you're a celebrity and kinda cannot just live Anywhere without proper security. minho hesitates, but ultimately agrees - he knows that felix would absolutely detest living in the dorms all alone until he finds a new home. he also has a pattern of finding it difficult to say no felix, but that perhaps should remain unsaid.

initially felix looks for his own place, minho even comes to viewings with him and points out things that felix might not like. this one looks nice but has structural issues, that one has mostly north facing windows, and this one doesn't even have a garden, is felix sure he wants to live somewhere without a garden? and minho doesn't think he's doing it on purpose, he really swears he wants felix to find his own place on earth. the thing is just that living with felix is just really nice. it's nice to have a smiling face greeting you when you come home, to have someone to cook for, to still live with someone who just understands how absolutely fucked idol life is and all the baggage that comes with it. someone with who you don't need to pretend for even a second.

it's nice to live with felix specifically because he's just....felix. he likes to watch movies with minho in silence and dark, likes to vent to minho about a stupid asshole he dealt with in the company while minho cooks, likes to massage minho when he goes too hard in the dance studio, likes to orbit him like he was always meant to just be there. likes to occupy minho's head every moment of the day.

it's nice to live with someone that you love, even if you don't really say it.

and sure, felix still looks for places, but it's much more halfhearted after around a year passes. at that point minho stops asking felix if he's seen any new properties and quietly, quietly hopes that felix just kind of stays. and he does! for a year, then five, and then after 10 when minho is thinking about downsizing it's not even a question that of course felix is coming, too.

the mortgage they sign on the new place is shared. felix plans most of decorating and as he shows his plans to his mother, she shoots minho knowing looks across their newly built kitchen table. minho sips on his tea and refuses to engage. minho gets them matching keychains for their new house keys and it's supposed to be a joke, but looks more and more like a couple item witch each passing day. felix jokes about getting them matching rings, too, but the joke falls so flat that minho actually excuses himself out of the room to smoke a cigarette for the first time in months. felix finds him, because he always does, and they look out into the night sitting on their porch. how do you say something that you never had to say before?

time passes and their lives only become more and more intertwined, if that's even possible. minho does bring people over times, one-night stands and sometimes short-lived flings that don't fit into his life and only into his bed. felix makes sure to stay out of their house when minho has someone over. they pretend it doesn't happen.

felix doesn't invite anyone over aside from his friends and family. sometimes they host huge dinners that they both cook for. minho looks at stray kids members laughing themselves into stomach aches over wine and then looks at felix and wants to hold his hand, more than anything else. when felix looks back and his eye wrinkles deepen as he smiles, cacophony of laughter in the background, minho doesn't want another life. this one is enough.

maybe they never really truly discuss what this means. maybe they do, at length, over many emotional evenings and substances that lessen the emotional weight of what they are. maybe the pieces just click and nothing really changes. maybe one night they sleep together and it's all so disgustingly enormous and way heavier than they ever expected and they never separate since. it doesn't really matter. at the end of the day, they're together and kiss each other goodnight in their shared bed.

what a wonderful question! best mcr album is a tough one because i think three cheers for sweet revenge is quite frankly beyond iconic, the imagery, the lyricism, and the THEME are all just so cohesive and come together to create such an atmospheric album that just has so so so much beautifully balanced fucking drama. however, i am personally really really partial to danger days, i find the pop-ish influence does absolute wonders to my chem songs, it just gives them such a smug, ravenous edge that i absolutely adore. it's definitely my favourite album to listen to on a daily basis.

i really can't pick just one favourite mcr song, but i will do my best to pick a non-ordered top six, with two songs each from their 2004-2010 albums. this will definitely include to the end and you know what they do to guys like us in prison from tcfsr, the sharpest lives and teenagers from the black parade, and planetary (go!) and bulletproof heart from danger days (with a special mention to destroya which almost, almost made this list).

best mcr line is also a tough one, so will pick this entire verses in sharpest lives:

i've honestly been inching closer and closer to actually writing it someday. probably not as fleshed out as i described it in that previous ask, but there is something about sports fics that just tickles my brain and i think i might end up writing a short fic where minho is an ice hockey player and wayyyyyy too into his captain's younger brother......

i would also DEFINITELY make him trans, i haven't written trans man minho in a while and i've missed him most dearly. fic won't happen anytime soon as i'm currently undergoing bereavement and feeling like shit, but considering that this ideas has been haunting me since (checking google docs), holy shit february of 2022, i might just give it a shot, be it sooner or later. also huge shout out to my dear apollo for helping me brainstorm that idea on call back then!

oh PLENTY! most of my mnlx ideas will never get written just because i have so many of them. but a mnlx fic that i reallyyyy would like to write but i don't think will ever actually happen is an ice hockey au where chan is minho's best friend and felix's older brother. it's kind of childhood friends to lovers where felix and minho meet as kids via chan, as chan and minho play in a junior league together. felix has been pining after cool, older minho since day one, but he doesn't really think minho will ever see him the same way. it would be a slice of life story about growing up, persevering love, and just like, young adult bullshit. quite different from my usual stuff, i think!

absolutely wonderful, we need more of this. more recently i've been having mnlx alpha/alpha thoughts, but i think i would enjoy writing them as a very specific flavour of o/o as well.

i think it could be really fun if this was an au where felix is a soloist and minho is his manager. they're something of an infamous duo in the industry: the pretty, perfect omega that rose to stardom within a blink of an eye, seemingly made for shining on stage and captivating hearts just with a single, heart-shaking smile. the nation's sweetheart. omegas want to look like him. mothers want their kids married to him.

and then there's felix's manager. lee minho.

lee minho, who absolutely fucking refuses to entertain any notions of traditional omegahood. who swears on camera (to their company's displeasure), who vocally hates all aspects of his job that do not encompass tending to every single one of felix's needs and wants, who spots the paparazzi following them and something in his usually blasé face just turns a little violent.

he's a walking-talking pr nightmare. felix loves him. actually looks at him with stars in his eyes. there are pictures. he is superglued to his side.

the media do not take kindly to an omega like minho, even though he technically isn't a celebrity. they especially do not take kindly to the industry's darling being willing to work with - and god forbid if the rumours are true - romancing someone as rough around the edges as lee minho. the headlines are brutal, truly.

at the same time, there is something really intriguing to the public about the contrast between these two and the affection they have for each other. there are videos of minho holding the umbrella for felix, carrying his bags, helping him put on his jacket. hundreds of comments under them of omegas bemoaning their own alpha partners who are nowhere near as thoughtful as minho is. felix gleefully filming vlogs about baking for his beloved hyung and going out to get him gifts. articles obsessing over the softness and wistfulness that appears on minho's face whenever he tends to felix, returning to his usual cool expression soon after the fact.

(a now-deleted blurry clip of freshly debuted felix having his tears kissed away gently in the background of some other idol's interview.)

people can speculate all they want but both felix and minho remain tight-lipped about the exact nature of their relationship. felix's fans are surprisingly supportive of the possibility of the two omegas being together and felix's fandom experiences a rather huge of influx of new omega fans around the same time when the rumours start. probably just a coincidence.

years later, when felix is already well-established in the industry, he does share that he and minho have been together for years now. no one is really surprised, especially since they have been very openly living together in a one-bedroom penthouse, as exhibited in felix's frequent livestreams. minho still shows the paps his middle finger when they're spotted, but now he does it while holding felix's hand 💝

i also think that mnho is Really observant and aware of people around him and this comes out so beautifully when he is with flx. to me it feels like he is very aware of the boundaries that they both have and how their needs overlap and where they don't. both of them generally strike me as people who just have a lot of respect for each other's boundaries, which I think some people see as them not being close or maybe overtly awkward together. i can understand that line of thinking!

but to me it really does seem like they both are aware of their differences and honour them and each other plenty. i also think that they are both willing to bend their boundaries for each other a little bit specifically because they know the other wouldn't demand it. does that make sense? it feels like mnho indulges flx a lot when it comes to skinship or maybe other forms of affection that do not come to mnho as naturally as they do to flx. he is willing to get out of his comfort zone a bit as long as it makes flx feel comforted and loved. and i think that is my favourite whipped mnho moment - his willingness to adjust to what flx needs.

my head has been full of accidental sugar daddy acquisition mnlx recently - I know what that sounds like and please HEAR ME OUT!

flx is an underpaid intern at a law firm hired by a company mnho co-owns. flx is taking notes during one of the meetings and just kind of gets talking with mnho, he ends up being included in the company-wide lunch invitation, is sat close to mnho, and they just vibe together well.

mnho likes how genuine flx is, he has that unpolished energy to him that most people working in law and business lose very quickly in favour of a more public-facing persona. he is unashamed of the things he loves, laughs loudly, and listens in a way that makes mnho feel like he actually cares. he just seems like a genuinely lovely person.

flx likes that mnho has a wonderful, dry sense of humour that he is unafraid to direct at any higher-ups that step out of the line and try to turn business negotiations into a dick measuring contest. he likes how kind he is to flx and every other intern or assistant, how he doesn't patronise them because of their age or position.

they catch each other during meetings again, exchange numbers, get out to get coffee a couple times, and then the rest is history. the progression to something more feels so seamless, too. flx needs a couple things for his flat, so mnho just swipes his card before flx can even take out his wallet. flx texts mnho in a hurry that he can't call because is about to be late to a meeting and mnho pulls up in his luxury suv and gives him a lift. flx wants to visit his family for holiday but cannot really pull it off on his bullshit internship salary, so mnho buys the flights for him, first class and all.

they aren't even together yet, mnho just enjoys spoiling flx so much it's literally embarrassing. outwardly he seems like a put-together, sensible man in his 30s, but on the inside it's all yngbok ygngbok yngbok yngbok yngbok day and night. he is down BAD. it feels so good to pay for expensive dinners at upscale restaurants, for relaxing getaways, to help him with his errands and just make his life easier. it feels so good to keep flx comfortable and provide him with everything he could ever need and more, for mnho to be the one who puts a fond, exasperated smile on flx's face with all the small but obviously luxurious gifts he's showered with. if anything he feels so fucking privileged that it's him that gets to take care of flx, that flx lets himself be looked after so intimately.

and the thing is, flx takes it all gorgeously. his eyes fucking sparkle when he looks up at mnho, the disbelief on his face when mnho brings him another louis vuitton bag. he rolls around satin bed sheets in penthouse bedrooms, all giggly and exuberant, and mnho needs to grip the doorway tightly or he will blow up. his profile, his closed eyes and the peaceful expression on his face when they're on vacation on some faraway beach, icy ocean breeze kissing his cheeks. mnho tucking a lock of blonde hair behind his ear, fingers shaking, and flx fluttering his eyes open with a small smile spreading on his lips.

mnho would break himself in half to be allowed close to him. paying for his plane tickets and getting him diamond earrings is a low, low price for getting to do that.
