How are ya? Feeling well? Playing a lot of games? Studies going fine? Hope everything's great 💙
You can totally be an artist! It takes time, but if you like it you can absolutely do it!
Thank you. Sometimes it feels impossible to improve, but I've been practicing and drawing almost every day for a few weeks now, which is very surprising to me after many months of not being able to draw anything. I hope that my art will be decent enough by the end of the year, but I don't know what I should do to achieve that goal.
I also need to improve my pixel art and 3D skills. Thank you for the motivation.
How is ur life being lately?
My life has been pretty simple, so I don't have many things to worry about, which feels great after years and years of being constantly anxious and exhausted from university. There are times when I will worry about my future, and especially about finding a good job, because I really need one, but aside from that, things are going okay. I think the near future will be very difficult for me, but I'm not afraid of it so far.
I think I'm a very blessed person. I have a family that loves me a lot, and the same is true for my friends, for my church and for the place I used to work. I've been able to meet some great people both here on the internet and in real life, and everyone treats me nicely. Because of that, even when I'm sad and worried, I try to not complain much, because I truly am blessed for having a mostly peaceful life and knowing people who love me.
What is your favorite artistic genre to write/draw/etc? Is it different from your favorite genre to read/watch?
There's a lot to talk about this question, so I'll give both a short and a very, very long answer.
Short answer: My favorite genres are slice of life, horror, drama, iyashikei, mystery and romance. Usually, there's overlap between what I like to create and what I like to consume, for the lack of a better word.
Very, very long answer:
When it comes to writing, most of my stories are dramas. They also tend to have many fantastical elements, which come as an influence from Fumito Ueda's work.
I have many projects in progress. I've been writing a lot of horror and fictional folklore, which are all short stories.
For my longer narratives, I like their foundation to be akin to a slice of life, because it's important for me to know how characters live so I can create a stronger connection to them. I've been trying to write more mysteries, and currently, most of my projects are inspired by folklore and paranormal phenomena.
I also write fanfiction, although I haven't published any of my fics. So far they're all romance and iyashikei, but I've been thinking of writing a few platonic dynamics too.
About the stories I like to read and watch, it's usually the genres I mentioned in my short answer. When it comes to books, I don't think I have any strong preferences. I mostly read classic literature, but currently, I'm reading a mystery book that has been pretty fun. For fanfiction, I almost exclusively read yuri, but I'm open to other ship dynamics and platonic stories too. I just haven't found anything that caught my attention yet.
For games, movies, manga, television and so on, I don't think I have anything too specific to say. Most of the TV shows I've watched recently are themed around paranormal phenomena, conspiracy theories and folklore, like X-Files, Twin Peaks and Gravity Falls. I also love stories set in the late 90s/early 2000s, stories that have a "Y2K" vibe.
Now, for drawing, my preferences are mostly the same for what I like to see and what I like to create. I like drawings that place characters in actual scenes, in other words, drawings that have some kind of narrative context. Unfortunately, my skills aren't good enough for me to create that kind of art yet, so I'm trying to practice more.
It's been hard to concentrate on my thoughts now, but I think this will give you a good idea about my preferences. If there's anything more you'd like to know, feel free to ask.
Any new ship going through your mind lately?
I've actually been looking for new ships this week. It's been a while since I found a new one to get obsessed with, so if you know of any ships that I might enjoy, please recommend them to me.
I think my most recent ships are:
Maya x Ema - emamaya/hozumayo (Ace Attorney)
Maki x Eriko - makieri (Persona 1)
Alain x Tatiana/Rosalinde (Unicorn Overlord)
That being said, I have a few potential ships in mind, but I'm waiting until I finish their respective games/stories, to see if they'll click with me, and in order to avoid any bad ships.
Thank you for the question. I love talking about ships.
I love reading through your posts on Twitter but I'm afraid that if I start liking all of them it will start feeling overbearing. So my question is have you seen Stories from Sol: The Gun-Dog? it looks really cool.
I've seen a few screenshots of the game yesterday, I think. I thought it was a shoot 'em up game, but I just found out it is actually an adventure game. I like both genres, but knowing that it's actually an ADV makes me pretty curious about it. Thank you for the recommendation.
And don't worry about the likes. I'm very happy to know that you enjoy reading my tweets so much, and I wouldn't mind if you started liking all of them. I actually like to know what kind of things everyone here likes since it's nice to share similar interests with other people.
Are there any video game OSTs that you're playing on loop right now?
At this very moment, I'm listening to Persona 2 Eternal Punishment's Aoba Park track, one of my favorites in the whole series.
Other tracks that I've been listening to a lot are:
City Escape (Sonic Generations)
Vulnerability (Trauma Center: Second Opinion)
Door Into Summer (Knuckles' Chaotix)
Evening Star (Knuckles' Chaotix)
Lavender Town (Pokémon Red/Blue)
Ruined World (Chrono Trigger)
One More Soul to the Call (Silent Hill: Homecoming)
and the entire soundtrack of Paranormasight, especially Curse Echoes.
Are you happy with your life right now?
i just wanna say thanks for being such a positive and happy account, especially in contrast to all the horror happening right now.
