Sorry to jump in for a sec but just aside from anything else in this whole debate, almost everyone I know in long term serious relationships (including my own) either has their own room or has found that without their own space the relationship can even suffer a little. Often with an extra bed even though they sleep together pretty much every night, just for the sake of little conveniences (even little things like wanting to take a nap or lie down and read or just sit on a comfy bed to do whatever etc while the other person is using the main room that they normally sleep in for something else, or if one person comes home late/drunk and the other has to get up early it’s better to have a spare to crash on than disturb your partner or sleep on the couch) it literally means nothing. You do not stop needing personal space, especially if you’re someone who always valued that, just because you love someone and even when you live and sleep together :/ a lot of people might think they wouldn’t want that because the idea of not wanting your own space anymore and being so codependent that you as a couple are now a single unit rather than a two person team is romanticised so much that people think it’s not real love if you don’t
