its mostly because of the colour scheme of his kingdom! i know that royalty is typically associated with deeper, richer colours but his country's colours are white, baby blue and baby pink, and these colours (particularly blue and pink) are mostly reserved for the royal family;;; white is a bit more ambiguous since its such a common colour but in that case the difference is all in the materials and embelishments.. like if you put edenyj and eden bg side to side both in their casual day to day clothes and they were both in white you would still be able to easily identify who was the prince from the fabric alone

but as for why he wears mostly white! it /is/ bc of it being a signifying colour of the royals but its also the most plain of the three, since he wears his heart through his clothes its like his own personal colour scheme becomes more drab the more upset and hopeless he becomes, like he's losing his own colour as time goes on, but before wonyoung was cursed he had quite a warm colour palette, with lots of baby pinks and peaches and creams!

100% bg!! when yj starts working for him he just immediately finds himself attached, it starts as a kind of puppylike idol adoration thing because yj is this cool older (by barely any years, but still older) guy that seems to have the answers for any questions he has and he finds himself feeling so safe and heard with him that over the years it just blossoms into something more for him... other than wonyoung and to a much much smaller extent his mother (shes not as much of a reliable source of reassurance as she used to be for him), yeonjun is the one person who he feels doesn't see his more gentler, emotional personality as a negative. he loves his family but theres a lot of pressure put on him by his father to be the perfect successor as hes the first born son and he doesn't live up to these expectations at all, especially when compared to kyuwon who is basically perfect in every way, so having yeonjun next to him reassuring him that these things are strengths rather than weaknesses and that its okay for him to just /feel/ is a really grounding thing for him

he doesn't have any internal conflict about the way he feels either, at least not until wonyoung is cursed and he has all this guilt about his attention being split between his misery with her situation and getting excited when he feels like yeonjun is finally returning these feelings that he's had for years

he wants more than anything for beomgyu to feel like he can rely on him and lean on him, especially considering he knows that gyu feels like he can't talk to anyone else in his family about how he feels because he's been keeping up a facade of optimism, he wants gyu to see him as a safe space and he wants to do anything and everything that he can to make sure that despite everything he can still feel happy

he wants yeonjun SO SO desperately but still feels like he shouldnt, and feels like hes being so so overbearing about his feelings and burdening yeonjun with them but at the same time he can't find it in himself to stop,,, its like he knows hes relying on him and he feels guilty for also loving him and hes worried about getting those two things conflated with one another. he also feels guilty about finding happiness in what he hopes could turn into a relationship with yj considering wonyoungs situation so hes just a little bit of a mess
