Read lots of shojo manga and pay close attention to people!! romance manga really figured out how to communicate romance visually and drawing from that has helped me so much! I’m in a long term relationship which of course inspires the feelings of my romance work, but since drawing from one relationship isn’t enough to continue writing stories about a verity of people I just try to pay a lot of attention to everyone I know. My comic flying saucer video is exploring the lines between friendship and romance, I think they’re very similar. I try to be in touch with my feelings and even just making friends is an experience of noticing special things about a person and feeling drawn to them, even if it’s 100% platonic. Then your friends have friendships and romances and create their own dynamics, it’s beautiful! Romance fiction is a heightening of relationships, so I try to bring all of my feelings towards everyone in my life into my romance comics and I think it makes for an interesting veriety of characters and dynamics that can all be set to 100 to bring out fun comics
