When holding hands, do you use your thumb to caress the back of the hand of the other person?

I think the last time I held anyone's hand was my mom as a child. I guess if I had someone I somehow felt comfortable enough with to hold their hand and that would be willing to hold mine, then yeah I might do that, that sounds cute.
