aaahh. you know, in the depths of my self-dms, I've etched out a detailed fic premise around a similar concept. much more surreal and dreamlike in setting, but features control as a protagonist at odds with herself and on a search to find her lost family, the term nebulous in meaning depending on who she leans into being, the image of that person always shifting and blurring in her memories. I love this kind of concept, wish I had the confidence and motivation to write it out tbh........
