Could you go into further detail regardig Lyra as Sibylla?
sibylla/sibyl of nymeia is like an umbrella/coined word that i use to describe lyra's in-game "job" and also her role as granted by nymeia and by extension the twelve. so essentially i'm calling her nymeia's prophetess/prophetess of nymeia or simply "the" prophetess because she is, as i like to say, the strongest astrologian in existence. and i feel like the title has kind of grown over time and probably became more "official" once the twelve vocally acknowledged it as her title, i was also thinking the role could kind of prophesized in a way in eorzea mythos but we'll see!
the specifics of this role are currently a bit shaky because i do need to rely on the twelve alliance raids, but as of pre-6.3 my ideas surrounding this role are mainly to be the "bridge" between these deities and the people. like lunafreya in xv is the bridge/messenger between the gods and people, she is the "oracle" much like lyra is like a "prophetess". lyra is able to offer wisdom and advice, readings, in general just an uplifting presence. power-wise, she also gains the ability to channel the powers of the heavens/the twelve so she also makes an amazing asset and ally, wol or non-wol. this may be edited over time of course but i've had this concept for awhile now.
Has it always been Thancred and Lyra or was there the chance that it was gonna be a different NPC and her?
Who fell in love first? Lyra or Thancred? Was it the same person who made the actual first move later on?
do you do lore collabs with others?
Not a question but thank you for everything you do in the community!
most embarrassing childhood story?
What is Lyra’s most dreaded fear?
there's multiple things i can think of and they all are kind of interconnected!
loss of control was one of her earliest fears and it stems from the accident with her brother. nymeia's blessing is responsible for saving her life but with it comes great power that if she doesn't take reins of can hurt other people. not even the best healers could heal her brother's burns and that really stuck with her and influenced the kind of person she grew to be. she's getting better about it but the more she discovers about her abilities the more that control wanes.
loss of self in the sense that being on top of that pedestal everyone holds her up on because of her strength and blessings. the doubts that eat her inside about who she is and whether the love she receives is true to who she is or if it is the face she wears in the name of duty.
and lastly it would be not doing enough by others, which connected to the previous two because she learned control and performs her duties for the sake of others and protecting them. her heart is rooted in service and she would do all that she can for those who seek her help or guidance.
Does Lyra have a favorite cousin?
how does Lyra like her tea? Any favorite blends?
it depends on her mood really! sometimes when she's feeling a sweet tooth she'll add some sugar or milk to her teas but in general she drinks them hot. her teas are most often brewed by her retainer, but she knows how to make them on her own too. her favorite is black tea, but also probably tea imported from thavnair too?
does Lyra hate poofy pink dresses?
What kind of cake is her favorite? ✌️ (u cannot answer thancred cake ❤️)
What does Lyra do during Starlight Celebration? Does she collab w the Ishgardian Knights?
this is a very sweet thing to think about because i do feel like helping children is something close to lyra's heart. she probably does her best to visit all the city-states during this time, helping out wherever she can. she does her part in sharlayan, too, naturally! anything from procuring gifts, helping prepare meals, story-telling, even warm little performances she would be willing to do.
it being a holiday associated with nymeia as well, can you imagine if little kids asked lyra to pass on their wishes to nymeia? i'd cry!!!
Which came first? Lyra's name and aesthetic or her lore?
oh definitely her name and aesthetic, her design and name are both based on the galaxy/night sky + greek influence (actaea is a moon of a planet, as well as a greek nymph; lyra the constellation is orpheus' lyre; athene is an alternative spelling of athena, goddess of wisdom); she has her starry silver eyes, and blue hair like the night. then i found that everything somehow tied up well with the lore i would later come to form!
Does Lyra have a pet? An animal or monster she raised that joins her on outings from time to time?
