I guess another predebut anecdote that most people wouldn't know would be that hanbin had a video of him and matt dancing together during just jerk pinned on his now deleted Instagram hehe anyway these are some niche sungseok moments people might not know!

I'll try to keep this short, concise and to the point as much as possible but I won't be making any promises.

First things first, I don't think Hanbin was coming from a place of malice. What we as fans have to realise is that Hanbin knows Matthew's boundaries more than any of us ever will, if this was going to upset Matthew he wouldn't have said it. And since it was implied that this was a conversation they had already had previous to this filming, and considering mattbin's on cam interactions recently I don't think this upset Matthew. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's not our place to dictate on how or what the members irl interpersonal dynamics are like. Because lets be real we will never know the members the way they know each other. Also I think stuff like this making us seokryus sensitive is.... First it was Gunwook calling Matthew's muscles ugly during the npop show where they had to roast members and now it's Hanbin asking Matthew to reduce them a bit when he was asked to give feedback on Matthew’s fancam. It's valid to feel upset on behalf of Matthew but we shouldn't jump into conclusions because we simply don't have all the facts we need. It's just not our place lol even if we HAD the facts like we don't know them like that, we never will. So its okay to feel upset or icky or even hurt but I think we shouldn't be projecting how we are feeling onto Matthew. Because he seems fine with Gunwook and Hanbin both and as fans we have to respect that.

Secondly, the comment on Matthew's biceps and dance lines. Hanbin was in his leader mode here and sometimes that means he has to say the not so pleasant things to his members too. It comes with the territory of being the leader. Ntm Hanbin himself has talked about how he doesn't work out his upper body because he doesn't want to build muscles that might affect his dance line. So, this advice, is something he already is applying to himself and a gentle suggestion that he made to Matthew. He also said that he felt that the arms were overshadowing Matthew so I think it most likely came from a place of care, even if it didn't exactly sound like that to us. He complimented Matthew's dancing after all!

Hanbin was also being very sweet about it. He praised Matthew first and gently broke it down even when it's not the first time that they were talking about it. I honestly.... I'd rather Hanbin talk to Matthew about this over the company tbh.

Finally, I don't think this situation is as black and white as people are making it out to be. It's complicated and all of us should try to look at this in as many angles as we can. The problem here I think, is that this was the wrong time and place for Hanbin to bring something like this up. The timing is what's making it all messy rn. Because if you're a mattbin Stan you know that Hanbin’s already talked to Matthew about his arms last year. So like. This isn't a new topic of conversation it's just the timing is very inappropriate.

Personally I think we should all calm down a little and try to look at this as rationally as we can. We shouldn't get too emotional over things like this like Matthew is an adult he can take care of himself and also has enough autonomy to talk to Hanbin about it if he's upset. And since Matthew's been openly seeking Hanbin’s affection lately.... I don't think he's upset tbh.

Anyway bottomline is we don't know the members the way they know each other and we should calm down and not get hasty. Think about this in multiple angles and think rationally. We, as mattbinners who respect Matthew and Hanbin's friendship more than all else, should actually make sure this dies down. This should not turn into another repeat performance of say my name.

(Side note: I don't agree with Hanbin tbh I don't think there's anything wrong with Matthew building muscles but hey I'm not a dancer, I'm not an idol.... I'm just not the person to comment on this but I definitely don't think there's anything in Matthew's body that should be changed as long as he's happy with it. Yep.)
