There’s plenty of weird little quirks ritsu has that fascinate me: carrying spoons everywhere, the way he’s able to lie and manipulate a little too easily, the fact he doesn’t listen to music, his favoritism and obsessions with mob.. but one scene in particular always stood out to me, and that was the mugging scene,,

Both brothers are protective of the other, but I really like comparing mob’s justified reaction to Koyama, an aggressive, violent grown man—who is PSYCHIC—who is trying to harm and KIDNAP Ritsu, and Ritsu’s instantaneous reaction to some pathetic highschool thugs:

mob is incredibly patient and shows great self restraint until exploding on Koyama.. he has every reason in the world to be as pissed off and aggressive as he is.. Ritsu on the other hand.. he’s ready to Choke Out a teenager—a non esper—for threatening to mug mob.. insane.. even after being told off by Teru to not use his powers on others, even after the kidnapping arc, even after making amends with mob, Ritsu’s come to the conclusion that it’s Fine actually, that using his abilities on other people is warranted if he feels it’s deserved (not even necessary, just DESERVED, LMAO)

Like, he could’ve floated the guy away, could have just threatened him, could have stepped in just with a warning and words, but no, he immediately jumps to straight up violence in the most nonchalant way.. these brothers clearly have different moral standards and it’s hilarious..
