https://retrospring.net/@moonlitb1n/a/113332303325936933 respectfully, bc i get where you’re coming from, but i feel like ppl are missing some context, no one is mad that someone was trying to ‘find more bttm!jsvng enjoyers.’ people were upset because that op had people in their replies and quotes talking like bttm!mnh0 enjoyers were wrong or stupid, saying it’s a ‘sin’ and there’s no way ‘bbg jsvng’ could top. that’s what people were referring to when they brought up misogyny. and ppl like that are constantly making statements like ‘there’s no way jsvng could top or be alpha’ and the tweets regularly get blown up with hundreds or thousands of likes. so i think the frustration coming from bttm!mnho side (AND bttm!jsvngers who don’t like the stupid stereotype stuff) is completely justified even if that one tweet you referenced was poorly worded. bc those ‘jsvng can only be omega sub bottom girl because [misogynistic stereotypical reasons]’ tweets get blown up ALL the time and no one cares but then when someone says something about it THEN it turns into top/bot discourse and the person who spoke up is the instigator bc ‘you’re only saying this offensive thing is offensive bc you like bottom mimo!!’ theres an obvious pattern that’s been going for months so let’s not pretend like this only happens when someone innocently mentions bttm!jsvng bc that’s just never been true, this only got backlash bc they opened their tweet with ‘why is there so much bttm mnh0 lately’ when we ALL know it’s the unpopular option on ao3 and twitter, so why are u saying that if not to rain on THEIR parade? like i agree it’s such a stupid thing to argue over but its only natural that people who are CONSTANTLY invalidated by these stupid statements are going to retaliate. if we don’t want this same discourse rehashed, then we should ease up on the whole ‘if you like top/dom/alpha jsvng you’re a fucking idiot who doesn’t know him’ thing. we can chill out with the stereotyping and misogyny too and maybe also the double standards here that make it okay for us to talk about mnh0 being an abusive stalker for example but anyone who says jsvng fuckboy gymrat gets shot. otherwise it’s never going to end. but that’s too much to ask i fear so i’ll see you for the next round
okay, i’m not posting this on twitter just so we don’t start the debate back up but i didn’t want to not reply to you, i /gen hope it doesn’t seem like i’m trying to keep this away just because our opinions differ if that makes sense!! i just don’t want to spark things back !!
that being said, both parties are always at fault. like i mean this genuinely both have things to fix and i admit that, i have seen a couple tweets like that and ive never interacted with it because i didn’t agree. i would like to know where OP’s comments had that /gen bc i had gone back and hadn’t found stuff about bottom mnho being a sin/other things like that so i do /gen want to know. i see what you mean though, and see how it could have been taken offensively. that being said, i don’t know why i even let that be brought (me personally, that was a fault of mine) up bc that wasn’t even what i wanted to pick on about — i was frustrated by the overused idea that people like bottom jsvng bc he has more “feminine” traits than others as if being either a bottom or feminine is something to be ashamed of. i do not equate feminine to meaning bottom the same way i don’t equate masculine to mean top; i also do not think we should assign “masculine” or “feminine” traits to actual humans because they both have all the traits because they are . Human.
i hope this all made sense. i think we could all ease up on debates on what a bottom/top is. we should ease up and just . Have fun. and i am taking this to let myself improve and not let stupid tweets get to me because i feel a lot better when i don’t interact with things as such. probably won’t be set for a next round because i find its pointless to talk about. i’m here to have fun and that’s what i will do :) i hope this answer was okay and i appreciate you taking the time to tell me the side that you see!
