since you’ve actually seen tubatu live in the flesh, i have question i’ve always wondered about.. in their online streamed concerts to me it always sounded like the backtrack is really loud (or maybe they actually just sing exactly like the studio version every time? but that seems unlikely), although in this one it wasn’t so loud.. i was wondering if irl the backtrack is as noticeable, or it’s just being turned up for the online stream
yeah, there are definitely some concert streams where the backtrack is a lot more noticeable! it feels really hit or miss to me, like there have been some streams that have been reasonable, but others where they're obviously singing their hearts out but the sound mixing online is totally off, or there are clips from inside the venue where you can hear them more clearly.... irl, it's generally obvious when there isn't a backtrack, or they're singing over it, or if they've chosen not to sing a certain part! when they're singing, the sound is a lot fuller(?). I also feel like they typically don't try to hide when they're not singing (they don't lip sync to impossible sections LMAO). there will be more of a backtrack for songs with complicated choreo ofc..... even though I've seen them a bunch of times, the isytt clips have been really eye opening 😭 I would have expected at least an echo of the backtrack during a song so close to the end of the concert, but now that I've started rewatching some of my own concert videos, I can hear the little differences from the studio version.
tubatu's dedication to live singing is one of my favorite things about them :] there's nothing like the full body shivers that come from listening to taehyun in 0x1
