hi cherry!! i was thinking about prisoner parallels... specifically parallels of the prisoner numbers opposite(?) to each other (0110, 0209, 0308 etc.) and i was able to think of something for each, but its all very basic surface level stuff...
02 uses her job to relieve stress ("reloading the warmth") while 09s job causes stress, 04s murder stems from her failure to please people while 07s is all about how he had to lie in order to please people (?? not too sure about this one), 10 is all about protecting the weak while 01 IS the weak (and he killed someone weak), 05 killed FOR the ones he loved while 06 "killed" the one she loved, 03s crime is inflicting punishment while 08s is defending herself from punishment (also how often religion is associated with 03 is interesting, and also in bring it on 03 mentions making others apologize while 08 is the one apologizing repeatedly throughout magic, these 2 are my faves so i have more to say about them.. they are so doomed t3)
theres probably more to say but im not smart enough to think of anything else.... so i wanted to know if you had anything to add!! especially about 0407 parallels cause im really unsure about that one...
I love these! I remember thinking about these a couple of months ago!
For 0407 one that I immediately thought of is their acceptance in society, Muu is an outlier because she is what others want to be, and she is happy with what she was born into (wealth, good looks, popularity). Kazui is an outlier because his true self is looked down upon, he is unhappy with what he was born to be. But Muu flaunted what she was born with & had rumors spread about her because she was so popular (im not sure if this is why she got bullied, just an idea), and so she lost her acceptance. Kazui kept to himself what he was born into, so he kept his acceptance in society.
02 is self-employed considering her type of job, considering that, she causes her own coldness. when you think about it, what she does is a lot like an addiction: she wanted to feel more warmth, but every time she "reloads" it, she becomes more resistant to what causes the warmth, and in the end, she will be perpetually cold because she became so resistant to the warmth. mikoto is the other side of the coin: he isnt his own boss, he's probably the complete opposite of that. his entire life is controlled by his boss. and instead of becoming resistant to the stress, like how yuno becomes resistant to the warmth, it only piles more and more onto him. so i guess in a summary: mikoto has and overload of what he DOESNT want, and yuno has almost none of what she DOES want. it's more of a connection but what i said about their jobs is the parallel!
i think what you said about 0110 sums up what i wouldve said! to add on a little: haruka is the weak, but hurts the weak, so therefore he could be considered strong but not by his own terms. kotoko is the strong and hurts the strong, but she was weak in the past so she could be considered weak because of what happened to her
i agree with 0506! there's way more for them considering they're an actual prisoner pair, but i think the main parallel i think of for them is the one you said
i love 0308 parallels so much, they're one of my favorite dynamics and pair!! one i can think of is that 03 controls the mass that follows him, he has a lot of freedom but it's taken away at the end when he oversteps and killcheroy takes her own life. 08 has NO control in her life due to her mother, but that changes when she kills her, that's probably the first time (besides her helping the cat) that she did what SHE wanted. so 03 gets a taste of what it feels like to be trapped (like how he feels at the end of backdraft) and 08 feels what it's like to control and choose her own actions
i hope these make sense!! i love parallels and connections
